About Daria Steigman
Daria Steigman, founder of Steigman Communications, llc, is an entrepreneur, business owner, and writer.
Daria is also a senior marketing communications and digital strategist who helps organizations communicate effectively with employees, members, customers, the business community, policymakers, and other key stakeholders. She is a leader and team-builder with a 20+-year record of crafting data-driven strategies to support core business goals. Daria’s diverse clients have included Fortune 500 companies, universities, associations, government agencies, and international organizations.
She is a frequent speaker on topics related to both business strategy and marketing communications and digital media. She is also the author of a blog that focuses on the business of running a business, entrepreneurship, marketing communications, social business, social media, strategic thinking, and what she calls Independent Thinking. She’s been a contributor to Workshifting.com and to Overdrive, the blog of the Entrepreneurs’ Organization. She also created and wrote a monthly business column for IABC’s CW Bulletin.
She holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Chicago, and masters’ degrees in industrial and labor relations (MILR) from Cornell University and liberal studies (MALS) from Georgetown University. She wrote a book of poems as part of her MALS thesis.
In her spare time, she loves to hike and run half-marathons. And she’s a huge baseball fan.
Karen Swim, a Steigman Communications PR partner, is a senior public relations and marketing strategist who helps organizations identify, connect, and engage with their target audiences. Prior to opening her own agency, Karen worked for more than two decades in leadership roles that included leading top performing sales teams at Glaxo SmithKline and developing and executing marketing initiatives for seven states at Quest Diagnostics. As an independent practitioner, she uses her deep business, marketing, and communications experience to customize PR, marketing, and content solutions for clients from health care to technology.
In addition to her consultancy, Karen is the owner of Solo PR Pro, a fast-growing membership organization that provides tools, education, advocacy, and community resources to help communications consultants successfully grow their businesses.
Karen earned a B.S. degree in psychobiology at the University of Southern California. She also holds accreditation in public relations (APR) from the Public Relations Society of America.
Beth Schillaci, a Steigman Communications social business partner, is a marketer, digital strategist, and entrepreneur with over a decade of experience helping businesses understand and implement new media marketing. She has a track record of helping companies identify and deploy the right social tools, channels, and platforms to strategically and effectively connect with their target audiences.
In addition to her social business work, Beth is the founder of VillageWorks, Inc. She was named one of the 25 CEOs to Know in 2010 by Gazette Business and Politics. She is the author of Your Social Media Roadmap, which provides small businesses with her successful framework for implementing a digital strategy. Beth is also a sought-after social media trainer and a frequent speaker on digital and new media topics.
Prior to branching out on her own, Beth worked for several technology companies, including InSoft, Netscape, and Knowledge Planet. She holds a degree in business administration and marketing from West Virginia University.
