Social Media Productivity Hacks 3

I’m using the phrase “productivity hacks” because it sounds a lot sexier than saying “tools I found online to help me do my job a little better or a little easier.” And, yes, my best hacking days (such that they exist) are ahead of me.

Here are three new tools I’ve been using lately:

Canva:  Want to make a Facebook post image? Need a new LinkedIn banner? Poster, postcard, slide presentation, or properly sized social media image, Canva has you covered. This brilliant, easy-to-use app gives you templates, typefaces, images, grids, and more. It’s easy to use–and my newest go-to resource for creating visual content. You can upload your own images or use ones from the site (all images are just $1). I do both.

Wunderlist

Wunderlist: This simple to-do list gives me an overview of what I’m working on and enables me to add in items (like new blog post ideas) on the fly. It’s the first list maker that makes sense for how I work. The app syncs among your various screens (i.e., desktop and mobile). The company just added a new folder feature, so once I add that in I’ll be able to separate client projects from business development projects, and work from play.

Color-coded labels: Did you know Gmail lets you color-code your labels? Color me stunned. I don’t know why I didn’t realize this before, but it’s just awesome. My color choices correspond to the way I have different items color-coded in Google Calendar. This means I can see at a glance what items in my inbox deal with client work, speaking gigs, business development, and so forth. Hat tip to Danielle Rogers and other #Bufferchat(ers) for cluing me in.
