It’s Presidents’ Day in the U.S., in which we get to say thanks that two great American presidents happened to have birthdays in February. (Thanks George! Thanks Abe!)
It’s also the official start of spring training, so I figured the Racing Presidents were a fine way to honor the spirit of both events.
Happy Presidents’ Day! Enjoy the off day–or enjoy earning productivity bragging rights on me. I’ll be off dreaming of baseball.

Every year at this time of year, when the ground is covered with snow and its cold as heck, I heave a sigh of relief that spring training has sprung so far to the south.
And I remember Bart Giamatti:
